Le Prieuré (pree-eh ‘ray)
We are both Europeans (Christine is French, a true ‘Berrichonne’, Jock is German)
and we spent many years in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the Arabian Gulf.
You must have heard of Dubai?!
Jock worked last for the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and is retired now.
He spent 35 years in countries overseas such as:
Afghanistan (Kingdom), Bahrain (Emirate), France, Germany, Iran (Empire),
Jordan (Kingdom), South Việtnam, The United Arab Emirates,
The United States of America, and Zaïre (now DR Congo), and had worked for:
Air Việtnam (VN), Air Zaïre (QC), Alia Royal Jordanian Airlines (RJ),
American Trans Air (TZ), Ariana Afghan Airlines (FG), Gulf Air (GF), IATA (XB),
Pan American World Airways, Inc. (PA), Saudia Saudi Arabian Airlines (SV).
All in alpha order (original names then).
Christine grew up in the airline business as well having worked for Aer Lingus (EI),
Gulf Air (GF), SATO and Pfizer, Inc..
We are avid readers and have a large private multi-lingual library, join in.
One day, we will attempt to write a book ourselves.
And, we are involved in historical research about Dun and the Prieuré (lots to discover!).
Christine is actively involved in the local art scene and the pottery and painting association.
They organize events and exhibitions and are well known in the area.
Hint for visitors to the Prieuré:
Smokers ok. Beware of cats, though.
We are both tri-lingual (English, French and German), and our day-to-day common language
is English.
